Two weeks ago I had the chance to meet Mike in Chicago on his business trip. He had work shows in Oklahoma City, Nashville TN, Chicago, IL, and Austin TX. We both flew into Chicago (him from Nashville, me from SLC) about 2 minutes apart from each other. We met under terminal E3. (It was fun to be standing there and meet my hubby in some other city, especially after being apart for a week.) It was fun to meet his co-workers and explore a new town we'd never been to.
After Mike was done working we ventured out into downtown Chicago and went to the Navy Pier on Lake Michigan.
We mainly walked around, took pictures, and people watched.
The US Coast Guard pulled this boat over in the marina.
The one legged seagull
We got to eat at a fancy restaurant, Osteria Via Stato courtesy of Symantec.
As we were walking downtown this bike gang came riding through the streets. There were hundreds of them, it was so funny!
The Bean! It was bigger in real life than I thought.
We loved seeing it at night and getting all these cool pictures with the lights reflecting on it.
Melenium Park. This park in the middle of the city was amazing. There is a stage where there were ballet dancers practicing for a show. We got to sit and watch them, it was so much fun!
We love the night pictures!
Buckingham Fountain
Lots of toll roads!
Navigating the freeways of Chicago may be one of our most proud accomplishments-it involved this map, 2 phones, and a only a few U-turns!
Our $12 a day rental car. We named him "Jack Link" because it smelled like gross beef jerky. Guess that's what you get for $12 a day.
Lincoln Park Zoo-the first Zoo in the US-and its free!
Went to Ed Debevics, a 50's diner where they are intentionally rude to you. It was a fun place!
The waiters dance on the counters every hour or so...watch the video.
Went to the Blue Man Group show. It was awesome!
How fun that you got to meet up in Chicago! Looks like you had a good time.
