Grandma Moyle and GrandBob came out to see one of Bob's grandkids be blessed in September. We were lucky enough to get to steal them for a Sunday afternoon. {Sadly, Bob's daughter has since moved back to Utah so we may not get as many visits from them in the future}.
We were also lucky enough to have both our parents come visit in October! It was such a fun and crazy 2 weeks between the hurricane messing up everyones travel plans and ending up having both parents here on the same night! Our apartment felt so empty once everyone left! We had so much fun and are already planning "we have to do this, and this" when our families come again!
The first few days the Penrod's were on their own because Mike and I had to work. It was hard to have them come so far to be here and have to go to work! Mike and I were both able to take Friday off and we all went to Salem, MA! It was just a few days before Halloween so Salem was hoppin!! Im not into all the scary, spooky Halloween stuff but it was such a fun time of year to be there. Halloween is legit in Salem!
Reenactment of the Salem Witch Trials

Salem Witch Museum
Inside the Witches Cottage-This might be my ultimate favorite picture from my in-laws visit here! :)
Dinner in the North End {Little Italy}
Waiting in line at the famous Mike's Pastry
Enjoying our pastries while looking at the Paul Revere statue
Went to the Boston Temple and Harvard Square
My hottie husband stopped to pose for me in front of the Boston Fire Dept.
Went to eat at the Capital Grille. It was more fancy than any of us had ever been to...none of us knew what to do...fun experience!
Prepping for Hurricane Sandy! My awesome in-laws also went to the store to stock up on food for us before the storm.
And the night when BOTH our parents were unexpectedly here on the same night! We loved having them both here together and all to ourselves!
Mike and I with my parents- we saw lots of sites including the Paul Revere house/statue
We took them on our favorite Duck Tour of downtown Boston!
I love these pictures-check out that view!
Couldn't visit the North End without a stop here {2nd time that week for Mike and I}
We decided to celebrate my birthday with cannoli's instead of a cake!
It was so fun to have my parents here on my birthday!
Mom and Dad inside the Harvard Book Store
This is such a cool bookstore. There are multiple levels of skinny little nooks you can walk through to find more and more books and little reading places!
Mom and Dad walking through a rainy Harvard campus
Stopped to check out a really old graveyard
We did lots of sightseeing while our parents were here but it was so fun just for them to see our apartment, where we work, shop, go to church, etc. Mike and I pretty much neglected all responsibilities while our parents were here {it was so nice} and felt like we were also on vacation. After we dropped my parents off at the airport early Saturday morning we came home to an empty feeling house, we missed them already! Please come back soon!

Sounds like you guys are having so much fun! That cannoli looks great! Good birthday cake choice. :)
