6 Months

Norah turned 6 months last Thursday! I can't believe how fast this time is going. We just love this little girl so much! She is such a doll and the best baby!
Left to Right 1-6 months
Here are her 6 month stats-
Weight: 15lb 11oz (38%)
Height: 26.25" (60%)
Head: 40.5cm (7%)

She's been rolling onto her belly for almost 2 months but hated being on her stomach and would just lay her head down or cry. {Tummy time was rough} but in the last week she has started rolling onto her belly and then back over and loves practicing until she runs into a piece of furniture or a toy. She has strong legs and loves to stand {sometimes holding onto just the couch}. She loves books- looking at them reading them, eating them.

Norah is a picky eater. We've given up on the bottle...she only accepts her mama, it also must be silent for her to eat, she dislikes being covered up, and usually can't eat if theres any other movement in the same room. {Yes...this combo makes feeding her interesting, especially when we're not at home to sit in silence:) Its no wonder I get anxiety about where I'm going to feed her next.} Can you tell she's an only child? She's not so sure what she thinks about solids yet. Her latest trick is slurping it out of the bowl instead of being spoon fed, hey whatever works right?

She takes 4 naps a day. Never for the same length of time, and never consistent time of day....except that she naps from 7 to 7:30 every evening. We're still working on the nap schedule....She's been sleeping through the night since about 4 1/2 months! Given that she sleeps through the night, and she lays right down for a nap, I can cope with the inconsistent nap schedule! One of my favorite parts of the day is walking into her room in the morning to see her peering through the bars on her crib and smiling at me. She doesn't cry when she wakes up. I  love waking up to hear her babbling and chatting in her crib. Even after a whole night {9+ hours} she will wake up happy and chatty as can be.  Its usually when we reach the living room she realizes how hungry she is. Every night just before Mike and I go to bed we go open Norah's door together and watch her sleep for just a minute. We just love her so much and usually want to wake her up to play or cuddle with her...but we resist the urge.

She has learned to calm herself by sucking on her middle 2 or 3 fingers {but she must find them on her own, if she's fussy I can't force her to suck her fingers, it must be on her own}. Ive started saying to her "find your fingers".  Its really not a bad thing, its always with her, it never gets lost in the car or in the middle of the night!

She is starting to be scared of people she doesn't know. She is also very sensitive and gets upset in loud or crowded places. There have been a couple times we left somewhere just after arriving because it was too much for her, it really is so sweet. Her happiest time of day is right before bed. She comes alive! She smiles, giggles, and really turns her charm on about 8:30pm.

She watches our iPhones like something is about to pop out of the screen {we do FaceTime with family a lot and she's learned the phone has noises and fun faces that talk to her}. She is fascinated by the phone and usually wants to eat it. She loves baths and just learned how to splash. She loves being outside and going for walks. She lets me love on her and cuddle her throughout the day, but she definitely gives her biggest smiles to her daddy when he gets home at the end of the day!

  1. I LOVE all these pictures Amber! It's so fun to hear all about your sweet baby girl. I love that she sucks her fingers! Jackson always sucked on two of his fingers too and it was great. (He still does it at night sometimes but will deny it if you ask him!) She is SUCH a doll. The feeding thing sounds rough, so sorry!
